Crisis: A Reflective Look Back and a Bright Path Forward

Come along for the ride as we uncover the modern crises that caused my worst living nightmare: natural disasters, hotel strikes, medical emergencies, a celebrity party-crasher, a stalker and more all for my very first annual meeting at a new association. A seemingly unbelievable chain of events forever changed how I think about and plan for crisis. Leave your Emergency Plan binder on the shelf and instead join me in reframing and reimagining how we solve problems. Weaved into this “you’ll never believe what happened next” case study is one key lesson: shift away from a checklist-mindset, and toward seeing your contracts, communications, and other resources as a framework for responding to any crisis – even the ones we could have never foreseen. Moving you from the traditional “what if” reactionary mindset, to a resource-focused, proactive method of decision-making will give you newfound confidence to tackle any challenges, even as they continue to mount. Your limits may be tested one day, as mine were. Are you ready?
