DFWAE Volunteer Opportunities 

To volunteer for any of the Standing Committees or ongoing task forces, complete our form. 

Purpose: To oversee the planning and implementation of DFWAE’s signature Association Day event including meeting content, logistics, sponsorship, and profitability.

Awards Committee

Purpose: To manage all DFWAE award and recognition programs and to assist in planning two annual awards ceremonies.

CAE Committee

Purpose: Advocates association professionalism as champions for the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. Cultivates a community of CAEs in North Texas and promotes and/or facilitates study groups in preparation for the May and December CAE exam.

Senior Management Committee

The DFWAE Senior Management Committee exists to develop educational offerings and facilitate networking opportunities to meet the unique needs of association Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operations Officers, Executive Directors, Vice Presidents and other department heads of Associations and Associate Member Organizations

Finance Committee

Purpose: Makes recommendations on the annual budget of DFWAE; analyze, study, and recommend the investment of surplus funds and advise on the condition of the current investments; reviews the financials. The Treasurer serves as chairman of the Committee. Composed of the members of the Executive Committee and two (2) Regular members.

Governance Committee

Purpose: Annually reviews the Bylaws, Policies and Procedures, Volunteer Handbook, and other official documents of DFWAE as well as changes in association governance best practices, and makes recommendations regarding proposed changes to the Board of Directors.

IDEA Committee

Purpose: To drive the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) awareness efforts of DFWAE. Provide continuous review of DFWAE member and volunteer composition, association culture, infrastructure, governance, and policy to promote and achieve DEI commitment and goals

Marketing & Communications Committee

Purpose: Oversees branding of DFWAE and marketing its events, products and services to local associations and community partners. The Committee assists in the development of timely advertising pieces for the Association as well as general member and prospect communications. Works cross-functionally with other DFWAE committees to help the association grow in members and influence. Develops and maintains content for DFWAE website and social media channels in coordination with association management company.

Membership Committee

Purpose: The Membership Committee exists to grow membership in DFWAE through recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.

Nominating Committee

Purpose: The Nominating Committee shall nominate one candidate for annual election for each position vacant and those expiring terms, and notify the membership of its choices not less than 60 days prior to the end of the fiscal year. No member of the Nominating Committee can be nominated for election as an officer or Director. Chaired by the Immediate Past President and consist of three (3) Regular members, one (1) CVB member and one (1) Associate member, to be appointed by the President.

Programs & Education Committee

Purpose: The DFWAE Programs & Education Committee exists to develop DFWAE’s educational offerings including lunch and learns, workshops, webinars and social events. Committee members are expected to offer recommendations on educational topics and obtain proven speakers.

Sponsorship Committee

Purpose: To solicit and secure sponsorships to offset association costs for programs and activities such as lunch and learns, workshops, Association Day, award ceremonies, social/networking events, Board retreats, or other special programs.
